60. William Ballard
William Ballard was a pioneer of Monroe County, VA (now WV). Born in Scotland, he cam to America in 1746-47 at Philadelphia.Military: Revolutionary War Soldier.
1793: Came to Monroe County and settled near Greenville.
William Ballard died September 14, 1799 (ref: Probate of will) having gone to visit daughter Mollie. Mrs. Michael Kessinger, on a farm adjoining the old Billy Ballard place on Indian Creek. He died after a short illness. His wife is also buried there. Names and dates for their stones were done by Johnson Ballard, son of James and Jennie Keaton Ballard.

Thomas Ballard was Road Overseer in Orange County, VA 1778. It is said that he served in the Revolutionary War with his brothers Philip and Elijah. (Pen. of Philip Ballard, his brother who died in Logan Co., KY.
