Kenley W. Mann; Pvt. Co. C, Vawter's Battery, Enlisted 5/29/62 (30th Battalion VA Sharpshooters) at Union, Monroe Co., WV. One record says he was a substitute for Lewis J. Mann at age 18. Present until 2/28/63 roll. NF. Had accussed Captain L.A. Vawter of striking him with a sword on 8/1/62. (Vawter found guilty). Later enlisted in Chapman's Battery 8/19/64 where he was present until paroled 6/12/65 age 19, 5'9, blue eyes, light hair. Died before 1917. Residence Monroe County, WV. Listed on 1860 Monroe Co. census as Kenley W. Mann, age 15, day laborer, father Squire/mother Julia.

Soldier 30th Battalion VA Sharpshooters; Pvt; Co. C Enlisted 1/26/63 at Camp Clarke (Narrows, VA) as a conscript. Had been in Ballard's Co. H, 166th Militia. Present until sick on 6/30/63 roll. Sick at Charity Hospital; Gordonsville, VA on 8/31/63 roll. Died there on 9/10/63 of typhoid fever. Born 1824, married Catherine Riffe in 1845. Brother of William and Woodson Mann. Res. Monroe Co., WV, listed on 1860 census as age 36, farmer, had 8 children, no wife listed.
After the death of Goodall Kesinger, Catherine went west to live with the children of her first marriage (Ballard Book by Dr. Margaret Ballard, page 124.)

Soldier 30th Battalion VA Sharpshooters, Pvt. Co. C, Enlisted 5/29/62 at Union, Monroe Co., WV in Lowry's Battery. Had been a pvt. in Co. E 166th Militia. Transfered to Battalion 12/4/62. Descriptive list says age was 29, 5'8, res. Monroe Co. On a 20 day furlough from 3/13/64 to 4/3/64. Listed AWOL from this furlough but apparently returned later. Present until admitted to Chimborazo Hospital on 6/24/64. Next shown on Federal list of Rebel deserters taking oath and sent North on 4/1/65 age 32, 5'7, florid complexion, gray eyes, dark hair, farmer, signed his name. B. 1833. Brother of Michael and William Mann. Married Nancy Mitchell later Mary Raines. Res. Monroe Co., alive in 1916. Listed on 1860 Monroe Co., census as age 27, farmer, widower with one child.

Present until absent in arrest 10/31/62. Present 12/31/62 to 2/28/63 roll when listed as drummer although not listed in the drum corps in April 1864. Present on clothing receipts of 8/1/64 and 11/17/64. NFR. Brother of Woodson and Michael Mann. Married Jane Keaton in 1840. Res. Monroe Co., WVA.
